Litsee is a UK interactive storybook app that makes the child the author. A child picks a hero and a story world, then decides what happens next, and Litsee turns those choices into an illustrated story, read aloud at their reading level. It is made by Litsee Limited.
WHO IT'S FOR
Who Litsee is for
Litsee is for children aged 5 to 11, with stories written for reading ages 5 to 9. The level is set from your child's age and reading confidence, and you can change it for any story. Younger readers usually enjoy it side by side with a grown-up, while children from about six read on their own.
Families use it at home, where one plan covers every child and each has their own profile, hero and rewards. Primary teachers use it in KS1 and KS2 classrooms for whole-class stories.

How it works
A hero and a world
Your child picks one of 15 heroes and a story world, from enchanted forests to outer space.
Their choices, their ideas
After each chapter they pick one of three paths, or write their own idea, and the next chapter follows it.
Illustrated and read aloud
Litsee uses AI to write and illustrate each story at the child's reading level. Narration highlights each word as it's read.
Quizzes, fact cards and phonics
Optional quizzes check understanding, and there are fact cards and Listen & Play phonics games for younger readers. Reading earns Stars and Gems.
In the classroom
Teachers run class stories on the whiteboard while pupils vote on what happens next from tablets, and reading reports show how each pupil is getting on. Litsee is curriculum-aligned, benchmarked against Oak National Academy learning materials. Litsee for schools

WHY
Why we built Litsee
We built Litsee for reading for pleasure. Children read their own book more carefully than a fixed one, so in Litsee the child is the author: the hero, the world and every turn of the plot are theirs.
Reading becomes something a child does, not something they watch. Litsee is a calm, book-first alternative to fast, distracting children's apps: stories are designed to finish in one sitting, with a clear ending rather than an endless feed. There are no adverts, and children read and create; they are not sold to.
SAFETY
How we make stories safe
Every chapter's words are checked against child-safety rules before your child sees them, and anything that fails is stopped. Whatever a child types is only ever the hero's idea, never an instruction to the AI. There is no advertising and no open chat, and anything paid needs a grown-up.

- Ages: Litsee is for children aged 5 to 11. Stories are written for reading ages 5 to 9, and you can change the level for any story.
- Free trial: Every family starts with a 7-day free trial. A card is needed to start it, and nothing is charged if you cancel before it ends. There is no free tier.
- Plans: Standard is £4.99 a month (15 stories), Premium £6.99 a month (unlimited stories) and Book Club £19.99 a month (Premium plus a printed book every month). Paying yearly saves about 30% on Standard and Premium, and about 15% on Book Club.
- Extras: 5 extra stories cost £2. Optional Gem packs start at £1.99, and only a grown-up can buy them, behind the parent PIN.
- Family: One plan covers every child in the family, and each child has their own profile.
- Devices: Litsee is a web app at app.litsee.com. It works in the browser on phones, tablets and computers, with nothing to install.
