How Litsee keeps children safe
Litsee is an interactive storybook app for children aged 5 to 11. Here, in plain words, is how it checks stories, keeps anything paid with a grown-up and handles your family's data, and what you control as a parent.

Stories are written by AI and checked by safety rules
Litsee uses AI to write and illustrate each story, from the hero, world and choices your child picks. Every story request, and every idea your child types, is checked against child-safety rules, and the AI providers' own safety filters apply too: blocked requests never become stories.
Every chapter is checked
Each chapter's words are checked against child-safety rules before your child sees them, and anything that fails is stopped.
Typed ideas can't take over
Stories are built from Litsee's own settings, so whatever is typed in is only ever the hero's idea, never an instruction to the AI.
No open chat
There is no open chat in Litsee.
No ads, ever
There is no advertising in Litsee, and our own visitor counts never follow children's reading.
FOR PARENTS
What parents control
A grown-up for anything paid
Purchases need your parent PIN or your private family link, and payments go through Stripe: we never see card numbers.
Optional extras, said plainly
Children earn Stars and Gems by reading. Grown-ups can also buy optional Gem packs, from £1.99, behind the parent PIN. Children can't pay for anything.
The right reading level
Stories are written for reading ages 5 to 9, set from your child's age and reading confidence, and you can change the level for any story.
See what they read
Your family dashboard shows each child's minutes read, stories, words read, reading streak and the choices they made. Quizzes are optional, and a weekly email can be turned on.
No voice recordings kept
When your child reads to the microphone, the browser's own speech recognition listens; Litsee keeps no recording.
Grown-up areas stay grown-up
Grown-up areas, including account settings, are behind your parent PIN.

In schools
In the classroom, teachers run class stories on the whiteboard while pupils vote on what happens next from tablets. Schools get the same safety-checked, ad-free stories, with:

Your family's data
Litsee keeps only a child's first name and age. Everything else is anonymous, and nothing is stored to train AI.

On this website, litsee.com, analytics run only with your permission. With it, Google Analytics measures visits and Microsoft Clarity records clicks, scrolling and page interactions, with form inputs and page text masked. We do not enable advertising cookies, and you can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings.

Safety questions parents ask
Is Litsee safe for children?
Litsee is built to be. Each chapter's words are checked against child-safety rules before your child sees them, and anything that fails is stopped. There are no adverts and no open chat, and purchases need your parent PIN or your private family link.
How is AI used in Litsee?
Litsee uses AI to write and illustrate each story. Are there in-app purchases?
Children earn Stars and Gems by reading. Stars buy outfits in the Star Shop, and Gems unlock special items such as companions. Grown-ups can also buy optional Gem packs, from £1.99. Children can't pay for anything: plans and Gem packs sit behind your parent PIN and are paid through Stripe.
Does Litsee record my child's voice?
No. When your child reads aloud to the microphone, the browser's own speech recognition listens, and Litsee keeps no recording.
Is my child's data used to train AI?
No. Nothing is stored to train AI. Litsee keeps only a child's first name and age, and everything else is anonymous.
