INTERACTIVE STORYBOOK APP · AGES 4–9
Litsee turns reading into something a child does, not something they watch. They invent the hero, choose the world the story happens in, and decide what happens at every turning point — then read the book their choices wrote, with comprehension questions woven into the pages.
HOW IT WORKS
Every Litsee book is built in the same four steps, and takes about ten to twenty minutes to read from start to finish.
The child names their character and chooses how they look, how they behave and what they are unusually good at. The story is then written in that hero's shoes.
They choose the setting — enchanted forest, pirate seas, candy kingdom, jungle quest, dragon castle or outer space — which decides the cast, the obstacles and the artwork.
Illustrated pages arrive with narration. At each turning point the reader chooses between clear options, and the next chapter follows that decision.
Short comprehension and vocabulary questions appear between chapters, and the finished book is saved to the child's library to re-read or re-route.

STORY CREATION
A hero starts with a name and grows from there: appearance, a personality trait such as brave, curious or kind, and one stand-out ability. Those choices are not decoration — they change how the hero solves problems on the page, which is what makes children read their own book more carefully than a fixed one.
Children can keep a favourite hero and send them into a new world, or start fresh with a whole new cast.
READING
Sentence length, vocabulary and page count follow the reading level set on the child's profile, from early phonics to confident chapter reading.
Any page can be read aloud, so a child who is stretching beyond their level is never stuck on a word.
Questions on meaning, vocabulary and sequence sit between chapters, so understanding is checked while the story is still live.
Every page is illustrated in the art style the child chose, which keeps the book feeling like theirs rather than a template.
Stories are designed to finish in one sitting, with a clear ending rather than an endless feed.
Finished books stay in the child's library to re-read, or to replay with different choices and a different ending.
PARENTS
Litsee is built to be the screen time you do not have to argue about. There are no adverts, no open chat and no external links inside stories, and account settings sit behind the parent area. Children read and create; they are not sold to.
Beneath the magic, the parent view shows reading time, stories finished, vocabulary met and quiz results, so you can see progress without quizzing your child yourself.

FAQS
An interactive storybook is a story the reader helps steer. In Litsee, the child designs the main character, picks the world the story happens in, and chooses what happens next at key moments — so the same starting idea becomes a different book every time.
Litsee is designed for children aged 4 to 9, spanning early phonics readers through to confident chapter-book readers. Text length, vocabulary and quiz difficulty adapt to the reading level you choose for each child profile.
Both work. Younger readers usually enjoy Litsee side by side with an adult, while children from about six read independently — every page can be read aloud by the app, and choices are made with a single tap.
Yes. Short comprehension, vocabulary and recall questions are woven into the story rather than bolted on at the end, so children answer while the plot is fresh. Parents can see reading time, vocabulary met and quiz results in the parent view.
Litsee has no adverts, no external links inside stories and no open chat. Story worlds and characters are drawn from child-appropriate options, and account settings sit behind the parent area.
Family plans start at £3.99 a month for 30 interactive stories, or £6.99 a month for unlimited stories. You can start a free story without a card, and cancel any time.
Litsee runs in the browser on tablets, laptops and desktops, and on phones for shorter reads. Nothing needs to be installed — a child profile carries their stories across devices.
